getting dressed is hard work

Well, it is!
Especially when your body is completely different from what you've known your whole life.

I've been struggling with creating "outfits" for my new shape. (I say "outfits" in air quotes because I generally am a jeans and t-shirt girl and call it a day). I want to look like a mother, but not an unfashionable one! I also need to wear things that wash easily (no dry clean only here!) and can hide a little spit-up if necessary.

I also want to look nice when I leave the house because hey, it happens so rarely these days! :)

These pictures are my Hubby's first ever attempt at being my bloggy photographer, and I think he did a pretty good job! He snapped these as we were on our way out the door for church. I think he has a future in fashion photography, peeps!

Me, on the other hand. I need to learn how to not look constipated in a photo. I hate it when you feel good in the mirror then you see a photo and it's like, "woah. bad."
Also, how much do you love my "blog pose"? You know everyone does it. I had to jump on that bandwagon!!

Taking photos of your outfits is an really good way to see how things actually look on you. For instance, I thought this shirt was pretty flattering, and I felt comfortable in it. But now, looking back on the photos, I see that it is a little shapeless, and could have used a skinny belt to accentuate the waist.

Also, next time I wear this outfit, I will add some bright jewelry. Maybe a bib necklace? It needs a little color.

But, if you are ever in a style rut, or unsure of what to wear, taking a picture does wonders. It's so much different than looking in the mirror. I definitely suggest it!

  1. Super cute outfit! Are those the same grey wedges Kate Bryan wears a lot in her posts?

    1. I swear I have tried to reply to this comment a jillion times, and it isn't working!! Haha hopefully I have better luck this time. To answer your question, yes! She blogged about them about a year ago, and of course I literally ran to Target to get them. They are super comfortable, and a great "go-to" shoe. I admire her style, so anything she says is good, I'm convinced!!
